Het VMBO van het Sint-Maartenscollege participeert in een comeniusproject met deelnemende scholen uit:
Italië, Duitsland, Slovenië en Nederland.
Titel van het huidige project is: Energy is our future.
Concrete aims :
a) familiarizing the students with the global concern towards the Earth’s finite resources;
b) raising awareness among students about the importance of using renewable energy sources : solar, wind, etc. ;
c) making a multilateral and cross curricular work using a wide range of subjects : Geography, History, Biology, Foreign languages, Computers, Chemistry ;
d) sharing the information gathered during each visit and all these having as a result a CD or a web site ;
e) putting across a plan of maintaining the mentioned objectives and of giving it a reason for existing in a healthy European environment ;
f) using this project to make the participants aware of the need to act with restraint and efficiency when using energy ;
g) planning, detailing and making a model of low energyhouse;
h) Looking at the costs of energy in the schools, and families, making plans to reduce the costs;
i) making a comparising between the using of alternative energies of partner
countries;
j) talking to authorities about how to lower energy costs; bz asking them about future plans to avoid using conventional energies;
